I won’t have to be the world’s worst hooker!Tina Fey
So I think during
last week’s Park and Rec there was a comment I didn’t really appreciate.
My bf and I were discussing how Tina Fey is really terrible when it comes to sex workers and he brought up the fact that she’s religious. Now, part of the reason I hardly ever bring up religion on here is because I don’t want to start a big thing. I hardly ever have the energy. I will say, however, that a lot of religious people aren’t very nice when it comes to sex workers. They tend to have a fairly strict and archaic notion of right and wrong. He also brought up that Amy Poehler is religious.
So I spent last week’s Park and Rec wondering “I wonder if anything slut-shamey is going to happen…” and it did, I think, at the very end. Remember when Andy was in his Women’s Studies class and was listing off “ridiculous” feminism ideas? Correct me if I’m wrong, but the joke was that his ideas for helping women were silly and offensive.
And the last thing he listed was legalizing prostitution. Once again, please correct me if I misinterpreted anything.
I just haven’t seen anything about it online. It bugged the crap out of me. I’m pretty sure Parks has never said anything about sex work until that episode. It felt like such a weird slap in the face.
I got the same vibes from the show, but I’m hoping that maybe instead of sexist humor there will be some character growth and development of Andy in the future?

Tina Fey - Dear Internet
an excerpt from Bossypants.
As requested, here’s another wonderful bit from the hilarious and witty book, Bossypants. Yes, it’s way better hearing Tina answers these letters out loud.
Tina Fey is epically awesome. :)
I want her book. However, instead of reading it, now I would really like the audiobook. And while I’m at it, probably Ellen’s book as well.
